DUSHANBE, February 22, Asia-Plus -- Tajikistan’s mining sector has suffered an estimated 40 million somonis in economic damage from ongoing energy crisis, Isojon Qurbonov, the head of the mining directorate within the Ministry of Energy and Industries (MoEI) said.
According to him, the country’s mining enterprises currently work for only 20 percent of their capacities.
“Adrasman and Anzob ore refineries as well as gold-mining joint ventures Zarafshon and Aprelevka now function in Tajikistan,” said Qurbonov, “Besides, Takob ore refinery is currently waiting for operating license.”
