KULOB, March 19, Asia-Plus -- Eight new cases of HIV infection have been registered in Khatlon’s Kulob region since the beginning of this year, bringing a total number of HIC sufferers in the region to 149, Amirkhon Ismoilov, the head of the epidemiological department within the Kulob HIV/AIDS-Prevention Center, said, adding that HIV cases are now registered in eight of ten districts of the Kulob region.
According to him, the new eight cases of HIV infection have been registered in Kulob (5), Muminobod (2) and in Shuroobod (1).
On 149 people living with HIV in the Kulob region, 123 are residents of Kulob; Vose has five HIV sufferers, Hamadoni -4, Farkhor and Muminobod – 3 each, Danghara - 2, and Temourmalik and Shuroobod – 1 each.
