DUSHANBE, April 5, Asia-Plus -- Deputy Prime Minister Ms. Ruqiya Qurbonova and Education Minister Mr. Abdujabbor Rahmonov are taking part in a republican three-day seminar for educationalists that is going on in Sughd’s Isfara city.
Noilsho Nouraliyev, a spokesman for the Ministry of Education (MoE), told Asia-Plus on Saturday that the seminar formally titled “Role of Advanced Schools in Carrying Out Reform in Education Sector” has brought together more than 300 school principals and education officials.
The seminar is staged by a MoE under instruction of the president, and its participants have studied advanced practice of education in northern Tajikistan, the spokesman said.
According to him, the seminar participants on Friday visited general schools in Bobojonghafurov, Isfara and Konibodom districts as well as the city of Chkalovsk to get acquainted with teaching methods used by those schools.
In the meantime, according to the Isfara education department, 85 schools with totaling 49,600 pupils now function in the district. A new school to accommodate 2,400 pupils was built in Isfara in 2007.
