KULOB, April 10, Asia-Plus -- A strict rationing of electricity has been reintroduced in the city and the district of Kulob.
Speaking in an interview with Asia-Plus, Ahmad Kishvarov, the engineer-in-chief with the Kulob electric systems, said that since April 7, electricity supplies have reduced daily.
“On April 7, for example, Kulob received 661,000 kWh of electrical power, on April 8 568,000 kWh and yesterday, Kulob received only 470,000 kWh of electricity,” the engineer-in-chief said, adding that the electricity supply situation in other districts of the Kulob region is even worse.
In the meantime, since today morning, the city of Kulob has not yet had electricity supplies at all.
Kishvarov noted that they had got in touch with the Barqi Tojik power holding head office in Dushanbe asking to clarify the situation but they had not given any comments on the situation. “We have not received any official information about introduction of electricity rationing,” the Kulob electric systems official said.
