KULOB, April 24, Asia-Plus -- The Kulob mayor’s office will find opportunities for allotting plot for construction of a private school in the city if persons interested appear, the Kulob mayor Homid Abdulloyev told a press conference in Kulob on April 23.
“53 schools, two lyceums and one gymnasium with totaling 45,000 pupils currently function in the city and the district of Kulob,” said the mayor, “There is need in opening of private schools as practically all of them work in two or three shifts.”
According to him, education spending accounts for some 60 percent of the local budget allocations.
In the meantime, construction of a new school to accommodate 624 pupils will start in Kulob in the near future as part of the national program for development of Kulob. Funds for construction of the school will be allocated from the national budget. The Kulob mayor’s office will complete construction of school in the village of Ziraki on its own. Besides, a number of classes will be constructed in the village of Lavova, Dahana jamoat.
“Appearance of private schools would be a great help fro settling problems facing the education sector,” the mayor said.
