ALMATY, April 25, Asia-Plus -- Kazakhstan is making preparations for visit of President Emomali Rahmon due in early May, Kazakhstan’s Foreign Minister Marat Tazhin said in an interview with Asia-Plus on Friday.
According to him, working groups of the two countries are currently preparing package of important documents that are expected to be signed in Astana.
“Kazakhstan has special attitude to the Republic of Tajikistan and we want further expansion of cooperation between our countries,” the minister said.
Commenting on Kazakhstan’s attitude to labor migration from the neighboring countries, including Tajikistan, Mr. Tazhin said that as a whole, his country considers it as a positive factor. “Kazakhstan is experiencing shortage of manpower in some sectors of economy, and without recruiting labor resources it would be difficult for us to tackle this problem,” the minister.
He further added that there are certain problems such violation of labor legislation, illegl migration and some others that should be tackled.
“However, there has been no any case over the past years that any Tajik labor migrant has been deported from Kazakhstan,” Mr. Tazhin said.
