DUSHANBE, April 30, Asia-Plus - A joint operation by border guards and officers from the counternarcotics agency has led to the seizure of a large amount of drugs in Khatlon’s Shuroobod district, press service of the Drug Control Agency (DCA) said.
A drug cache containing more than 2 kilograms of heroin and 12 kilograms of cannabis was discovered in the area patrolled by the frontier Sayod on April 29.
The Sate Committee for National Security (GKNB) has instituted criminal proceedings on drug-trafficking charge and an investigation is under way.
