DUSHANBE, April 30, Asia-Plus  -- Introduction of a two-year moratorium on inspection of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) is a significant step forward in supporting development of entrepreneurship in Tajikistan, Ms. Matluba Ulljaboyeva, chairperson of National Association of Small and Medium Businesses of Tajikistan, said in an interview with Asia-Plus.  

According to her, the moratorium will promote further development of small and medium-sized businesses in the country.  “However, two years is quite a short period for enterprise to develop and increase its capital in order to be able to pay taxes.  In international practice, the moratorium is usually introduced for the period from three to five years,” Ulljaboyeva said. 

We will recall that President Emomali Rahmon proposed to introduce a two-yea moratorium on inspections of SMEs while addressing a joint session of parliament on April 25.
