DUSHANBE, June 2, Asia-Plus  -- The CIS interstate council for protection of industrial property and the CIS working commission for preventing intellectual property rights infringements will hold a joint session in Astana, Kazakhstan from June 3-4.   

Ms. Maria Gutsalo, a spokeswoman for the CIS executive committee, told Asia-Plus on June 2 that the session aims to consider the results of work of the working group for improvement and harmonization of national laws and hear information about development of invention and support to small and medium-sized innovative businesses with use of mechanism of legal protection of intellectual property.   

According to her, the session participants are also scheduled to discuss the possibility of establishment of the interstate council for protection of intellectual property as well as a progress of implementation of an agreement on mutual safekeeping of interstate secrets in the field of legal protection of inventions.
