DUSHANBE, June 5, Asia-Plus -- In Dushanbe, the spring conscription campaign target has been overfulfilled by 1 percent and 651 young men have been called up for military service, Shavkat Saidov, a spokesman for the Dushanbe mayor, said in an interview with Asia-Plus.
According to report of Colonel T. Safarov, chief of the Dushanbe central military registration and enlistment office, 350 of those 651 conscripts have been admitted to military service on voluntary basis, the spokesman said.
“In all, 1300 conscript-age young men have applied to the district military recruitment offices in Dushanbe, however, the district military-medical commissions have taken specific decisions on each of them in accordance with the conscription legislation, including deferment of military service,” Saidov said.
