DUSHANBE, June 7, Asia-Plus  - The third international light industry exhibition, InterLegProm-2008, opened at the Kokhi Vahdat State Complex in Dushanbe on June 7.

The exhibition, staged by the Government of Tajikistan, Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI), Ministry of Energy and Industries (MoEI) and the Republican Committee of Trade Unions for Employees of Textile and Light Industry, runs through June 10.

The source at a CCI said that some 30 companies from Tajikistan, Russia, Iran, Turkey and other countries are participating in the exhibition.  They have put on display their achievements in light industry at the fair in Dushanbe.    

Roundtable meeting to discuss prospects and opportunities of use of local raw materials by enterprises of Tajik light industry will be held on sidelines of the exhibition, the source said.  

The first international light industry exhibition was held in Dushanbe on June 8-11, 2006, and more than 30 companies from Tajikistan, Iran and India participated in that exhibition that was dedicated to a Day of Light Industry Workers, 15th anniversary of Tajikistan’s Independence and the 2,700th anniversary of the establishment of the city of Kulob.   The second exhibition was held in Dushanbe on June 8-10, 2007.
