DUSHANBE, June 7, Asia-Plus -- Publishing house “”Irfon” recently printed a new book about Tajiks and Tajik Diasporas in other countries by known Tajik researcher, Professor Mansour Babakhanov.
The book entitled “The Word about Tajiks” is a topical collection of his articles and papers dedicated to various problems of ethnic Tajiks living abroad, published in print media and collections of materials of regional and international conferences during the period from the 1960s to 2007.
The book consists of two parts. The first part contains more than twenty articles and papers by Professor Babakhanov, interviews of known journalists such as Shodi Shokirzoda, Foteh Abdullo, Ibrohim Shurkurov and Jumakhon Saidali, as well as notes made in Afghanistan, including meetings with head of the Nosir Khusrav Culture Center as well as known Afghan politician Said Mansour Nodiri, and official letters by the author about problems of Tajiks to heads of separate government institutions and the head of state.
The second part includes a number of articles by the author in the Russian language -- “Tajiks in Russia”, “Tajik Diaspora and Native Land”, “Topical Problems of Tajiks of the World”, “Migrants of Tajikistan in Siberia”, etc.
The book is intended for researchers, specialists, students and post-graduate students, as well as the general public interested in history of Tajiks.
