KHUAJND, June 14, Asia-Plus -- A three-day seminar for Sughd journalists on rights of children with limited opportunities is ending in Khujand today.
Staged by the public charitable organization Zdorovye, the seminar is dedicated to make local journalists aware of rights of children with limited opportunities and general rules of treating them.
Speaking in an interview with Asia-Plus, the seminar trainer Muhayo Nozimova said, “Such categories of children are an integral part of our society, however there are few reports of them in local media.”
According to her, the objective of that project is to encourage Sughd media to draw attention to problems facing children with limited opportunities and their rights and thereby support protection and observance of the children’s rights
“According to official data, there are 180,000 children with limited opportunities in the country, while the real number of them can be much higher than official data shows,” the trainer said.
