KHUJAND, July 29, 2008, Asia-Plus -- The branch of Tajik national air carrier, TajikAir, in the Sughd province does not exist any more as it has been reorganized in accordance with an individual plan for restructuring TajikAir, Asia-Plus has learned at the Khujand airport.
The source at the Khujand airport said that the individual plan for restructuring the Tajik national air carrier was endorsed by the government on April 3, 2007 and TajikAir administration’s order of April 30, 2008.
Under these documents, the TajikAir’s branch in Sughd has been divided into two companies: Khujand international airport and aircraft operating unit, which will be TajikAir’s branch in Khujand.
The Khujand international airport includes air traffic management and fuel services.
The aircraft operating unit will consist of air squadron, aircraft maintenance base, flight steward personnel, aerial communication agency and hotel.
A commission that has been set up for dividing the property and obligations of the Sughd air enterprise in accordance with tasks and functions of new structures is completing its work and property-transfer documents have already been endorsed. In accordance with these documents all property of the Sughd branch of TajikAir should be transferred to its successors before August 1.
