We will recall that a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on cooperation in developing new energy projects in Tajikistan was signed by Inter RAO YeES and Tajikistan’s Ministry of Energy and Industries (MoEI) during President Medvedev’s official visit to Tajikistan.

According to Barqi Tojik (Tajik electric systems) power holding, they have proposed the Russian company to participate in three energy projects – Urfatin power plant on the Khingob River, Obburdon power plant on the Zarafshon River, and Yavroz power plant on the Kofarnihon River.

“The largest of them will have capacity of 250 megawatt,” the source said, adding that the more exact parameters of each of the mentioned stations will be determined during conducing feasibility studies for implementation of the projects.
