DUSHANBE, September 24, 2009, Asia-Plus -- Non-governmental organizations dealing with the environmental protection issues point to the necessity of adopting an efficient national energy saving program for 2010-2015.
Ecologists of Tajikistan offer the Government to develop the national strategy and the plan of actions to ensure improvement of power efficiency as an important condition of sustainable development of the country’s economy, a statement signed by 19 local ecology organizations said, noting that the strategy and the plan of actions should determine specific, measurable and feasible objectives and goals in the field of energy saving.
The statement, in particular, underlines the necessity of providing the most efficient use of existing resources and financial instruments as well as creating frames for investments in economy dedicated to speed up introduction of technologies of production and efficient use of ecologically pure power.
Tajik ecologists consider that “the national program must stipulate adoption of new construction standards and code, development of energy indicators for assessment of power efficiency of buildings, gradual putting in commission of buildings with passive or zero power consumption, as well as introduction of the system of certification of power efficient characteristic of buildings.”
The statement has been submitted to the Ministry of Energy and Industries, which coordinates development of the national energy saving program for 2010-2015.
