DUSHANBE, September 25, 2009, Asia-Plus -- Students from Tajik Sate University of Commerce will take part in the SIFE-2009 World Cup that will be held in Berlin from October 4-6, this year.
Tajik students will compete in the annual SIFE (Students in Free Enterprise) World Cup for the first time.
SIFE (Students in Free Enterprise) is a global non-profit organization, supporting university students at more than 1,400 schools in 40 countries. Students are empowered to teach ethical entrepreneurship and business conducts in their local communities.
SIFE brings together a diverse network of university students, academic professionals and industry leaders around the shared mission of creating a better, more sustainable world through the positive power of business. By contributing their talents to projects that improve the lives of people worldwide, SIFE participants are demonstrating that individuals with a knowledge and passion for business can be a powerful force for change.
Working in partnership with business and higher education, SIFE establishes student teams on university campuses. These teams are led by faculty advisors and they are challenged to develop quality community outreach projects that reach six educational criteria: market economics; success skills; entrepreneurship; financial literacy; environmental sustainability; and business ethics.
The effectiveness of their programs judged at competition. Each national SIFE organization conducts a national competition, which is judged by leaders from its business community. At competition, SIFE teams present the results of their educational outreach projects and compete to determine which team was most successful at creating economic opportunity for others. The winner of these competitions represents their countries to compete in the annual SIFE World Cup.
