KHUJAND, February 22, 2010, Asia-Plus -- The registration of the candidate for the Sughd regional council from Konibodom constituency # 18, Burhon Bahromov, has been annulled by a decision of the Sughd regional electoral commission.
Nabijon Poulodov, a secretary for the regional electoral commission, told Asia-Plus today that the registration of Burhon Bahromov was annulled in connection with criminal proceedings instituted against him. “Investigation in Bahromov’s case has been completed and the case has already moved to a court,” Poulodov noted.
We will recall that the regional electoral commission at the end of last week annulled the registration of four candidates for Khujand legislature (City Majlisi) following a complaint by the organization of the Islamic Revival Party (IRPT) for Sughd province.
