KHUJAND, October 5, 2010, Asia-Plus -- German equipment is being installed at a spinning mill that is under construction in Mastchoh district, Sughd province.
The enterprise, Olim Textiles, with capacity of processing 20,000 tons of cotton per year is expected to be finished by the Navrouz holiday (March 21, 2011).
Olim Textiles will create 400 new jobs.
According to the Sughd regional administration, 11 cotton-processing enterprises have been registered in the province.
Three of them – open joint-stock company (OJSC) Ehyo, closed joint-stock company (CJSC) Resmon and the limited liability company Valizoda – have not been in operation since the beginning of this year.
The remaining eight enterprises have produced a total of 1,700 of yarn over the first eight months of this year, which is 200 tons more than in the same period last year.
