DUSHANBE, March 14, 2011, Asia-Plus -- Tajikistan’s tourism capacity development initiatives have been presented on sidelines of the Berlin International Economics Congress 2011 formally titled “An International Conference on the Future of Global Politics, Nation Branding, Sustainable Tourism and International Investment in a Globalized World.”
The congress took place in Berlin from March 9 to March 12 in parallel with the Berlin International Tourism Conference (ITB).
According to the Tajik MFA information department, the presentation of Tajikistan’s tourism capacity development initiatives was organized by the Tajik Embassy in Berlin in cooperation with the Institute for Cultural Diplomacy.
Representatives from diplomatic missions accredited in Germany, known statesmen and politicians of foreign nations as well as participants at “the Cultural Diplomacy in the Global Diplomacy: A Forum for Young Leaders” have been invited to the presentation.
Imomuddin Sattorov, Tajik Ambassador to Germany, and Lochin Fayzulloyev, the first deputy chairman of the Committee for Youth, Sports and Tourism Affairs under the Government of Tajikistan, gave the presentation of Tajikistan’s tourism capacity.
A video “Tajikistan: Fee the Friendship” featuring sustainable development of the country, economic programs being implemented in Tajikistan, nature and landscape diversity as well as internationally known cultural relics and national traditions of Tajikistan was screened during the event.
The Institute for Cultural Diplomacy (ICD) is an international, not-for-profit, non-governmental organization based in Berlin. Founded in 1999 by Mark Donfried, ICD focuses its activities on promoting and developing the field of cultural diplomacy by conducting research, holding event series, and supporting forums for young leaders.
