DUSHANBE, June 1, 2011, Asia-Plus  -- Issues related to intensification of trade and economic cooperation between Tajikistan and Pakistan were a major topic of a meeting of Tajikistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) head Said Sharif with a delegation of Pakistani entrepreneurs that took place in Dushanbe on May 31.

According to the CCI press office, the CCI head briefed the Pakistani guests on an investment climate in Tajikistan, economic sectors that could drive trade between the two countries and offered to organize the second exhibition of Pakistani goods in Dushanbe in 2012.

“The Chamber takes efforts to create favorable conditions for companies and firms to establish partnership in different economic sectors,” said Sharif, “We will inform relevant enterprises and agencies of Tajikistan of proposals of Pakistani entrepreneurs and potential opportunities for development of trade and economic ties between our countries.”

For his part, the Pakistan delegation head Haji Ghulam Ali, who is President of the Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI), noted that the visit of the Pakistan business delegation to Tajikistan was the evidence of the fact that Pakistan business circles were interested in expansion of mutually beneficial cooperation with Tajik partners.
