DUSHANBE, June 6, 2011, Asia-Plus -- The CIS Interstate Committee for Statistics has ranked Tajikistan among three CIS nations with the highest inflation rate for the first four months of this year.
According to the CIS Interstate Committee for Statistics, in January-April 2011, the highest inflation rate has been reported in Belarus (10.9 percent), which is followed by Kyrgyzstan (6.8 percent) and Tajikistan (6.1 percent).
In Armenia, inflation for the same four-month period stood at 5.0 percent, Ukraine – 4.7 percent, in Russia and Moldova – 4.3 percent, in Kazakhstan – 4.2 percent, and in Azerbaijan – 3.9 percent.
The CIS Interstate Committee for Statistics does not have inflation rates for Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan in its report.
Within the CIS area, an average inflation rate for January-April 2011 stood at 4.7 percent.
Apart from inflation rates, the CIS Committee for Statistics released data on industrial production during January-April 2011.
The industrial production within the CIS area reportedly rose 6.2 percent in average compared to the same period of 2010.
The highest industrial production growth has been reported in Belarus (12.9 percent). In Ukraine, the industrial production rose 8.5 percent, in Armenia – 6.4 percent, in Kazakhstan – 6.1 percent, in Kyrgyzstan – 5.6 percent. In the Russian Federation, industrial production rose 5.5 percent, and in Tajikistan – 3.9 percent.
In Azerbaijan, the industrial production has fallen 0.9 percent over the report period.
The CIS Interstate Committee for Statistics does not have industrial production growth rates for Moldova, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan in its report.
