DUSHANBE February 20, 2012, Asia-Plus -- The final goal of joining the World Trade Organization (WTO) is strengthening of competitive positions of business both in domestic and external markets.
Ms. Larisa Kislyakova, the deputy chairperson of Tajikistan’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI), remarked this in Dushanbe at the end of last week, while speaking at the presentation ceremony of the project, Quality Management System as Instrument of Development of Business.
“It is the necessary condition of full-fledged participation of national economy in the system of international economic ties,” Ms. Kislyakova noted.
The ceremony participants included representatives from Kamolot-1, ISD Consulting, and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD)’s Business Advisory Service (BAS) Tajikistan project.
The CCI deputy chairperson pointed to the necessity of developing the productive sector through use of the quality management system in accordance with international standards. “Tajikistan is actively getting into international market economic component must promote solving a number of important tasks, including mobilization of foreign investments for development of the country’s economy and training of personnel for the economic management sphere,” Ms. Kislyakova added.
A quality management system (QMS) can be expressed as the organizational structure, procedures, processes and resources needed to implement quality management. Early systems emphasized predictable outcomes of an industrial product production line, using simple statistics and random sampling. By the 20th century, labor inputs were typically the most costly inputs in most industrialized societies, so focus shifted to team cooperation and dynamics, especially the early signaling of problems via a continuous improvement cycle. In the 21st century, QMS has tended to converge with sustainability and transparency initiatives, as both investor and customer satisfaction and perceived quality is increasingly tied to these factors.
