The UN Food and Agriculture Organization forecasts reduction in 2012 wheat production.

FAO says this year’s crop yield to make 2mln 371.000 tons, 27.000 tons more as compared to the last year.

Therefore, FAO forecasts record crop yield this year thanks to the increase in fodder production. Wheat production will reduce by 3.6% as compared to the same period 2011 and is forecasted to make 675mln tons, FAO said.

Most rapid reduction in cereal production is forecasted in Ukraine which is followed by Kazakhstan, China, Morocco and EU countries. Expected reduction in crop production will coincide with forecasted reduction in cereal consumption in 2012-2013.
