Tajikistan President Emomali Rahmon, who is taking part in the Beijing summit of heads of SCO member states, met with his Afghan counterpart Hamid Karzai to discuss further development of Tajik-Afghan relations.
As reported by the Tajik President’s press service, leaders of the two countries met on Wednesday to discuss preparation for and implementation of multiple projects aimed at establishment of transport, communication and energy links between Tajikistan and Afghanistan.
President Rahmon told his Afghan counterpart that Tajikistan is willing to supply at least 700 megawatt of electricity to Afghanistan through Sangtuda-Kunduz-Puli Humri power line.
President Rahmon is expected to return back to Tajikistan this evening.
