DUSHANBE, June 13, 2012, Asia-Plus -- Grant Thornton organized series of seminars on the topics of internal control and audit for 15 specialists of the National Bank of Tajikistan (NBT) in Dushanbe on June 4-6, press release issued by Grant Thornton Tajikistan on June 13 said.

The initiative of Grant Thornton was reportedly formed based on a number of incentives: the firm believes in the value of education and the constant need in improvement of its quality, as well as the desire to support accelerate implementation of efficient internal control systems in the banking sector in Tajikistan.

Vladislav Muradyan, head of the Risk Management Department of Grant Thornton led the series of seminars, which covered the following 3 topics: the role of internal audit in corporate governance, risk management and internal control system; internal audit: aims, objectives and methodology; and business analysis and information technologies.

15 specialists of different departments of the National Bank of Tajikistan took part in the seminars.  The participants reportedly showed great interest in the topics of discussion and highly evaluated the quality of facilitation of seminars.  According to feedback received, they have gained useful information and knowledge applicable for their work.  Upon completion of the seminars the participants were awarded with certificates of participation.
