DUSHANBE, December 31, 2012, Asia-Plus – On Friday December 28, Sharif Said, Chairman of Tajikistan’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) met here with Viktor Nikityuk, Ukraine’s Ambassador to Tajikistan.
According to the CCI press center, the sides discussed a broad range of issues related to bilateral economic cooperation between Tajikistan and Ukraine, including cooperation between CCIs of the two countries.
Ukrainian diplomat reportedly noted that the next session of the Tajik-Ukrainian intergovernmental commission for trade and economic cooperation would take place in Dushanbe in March 2013 and a session of Tajik-Ukrainian Business Council would be timed to coincide with the commission’s meeting.
For his part, Sharif Said offered to hold Ukraine’s universal exhibition in Tajikistan next summer. According to him, companies from neighboring countries could also be invited to the exhibition.
Economic cooperation between the two countries is reportedly progressing. Fifteen Ukrainian-made passenger carriages arrived in Dushanbe recently. The two countries might also cooperate on delivering Ukrainian-made products to Afghanistan via Tajik territory, the source said.
