DUSHANBE, February 1, - A minor tremor measuring 2.5-3.0 on a 12-point scale shook Dushanbe yesterday afternoon, at around 3:52 p.m.
According to the Committee for Emergency Situations (CES), an earthquake could also be felt in the northern province of Sughd, where the quake’s magnitude was 3.0 on the 12-point scale.
A source at a CES said that the earthquake, with its epicenter in the territory of Kyrgyzstan, 185 kilometers northeast of the Tajik capital, also jolted Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan. In the epicenter, the tremor’s magnitude was 5.0-6.0 on the 12-point scale, according to him.
“According to preliminary information, no damage or injured was reported in Tajikistan,” the source aid.
