DUSHANBE, December 8, Asia-Plus -- A drawing contest entitled “Emergency Situations as Seen by Children” was held among pupils from 35 schools in the Shahrinav district, Asia-Plus has learned from Madina Sayfiddinova, public relations officer, Tajikistan’ Red Crescent Society (RCS).
According to her, the contest was organized within the framework of the “Joint Approach to Ensure Preparedness of Communities for Emergency Situations” project implemented by RCS in cooperation with Hilfswerk Austria.
130 pupils took part in the contest, which aimed to draw public’s attention to risks of natural disasters.
They plan to hold similar contest in three other districts subordinate to the center – Hissor, Rudaki and Tursunzoda.
Drawings of winners will be used for preparing posters.
