DUSHANBE, May 29, Asia-Plus -- A large amount of weapons and ammunitions was found in Suhrob Langariyev’s house Tuesday evening after completion of the special operation for detention of suspect drug traffickers, Nozirjon Bouriyev, the head of the public relations center within the State Committee for National Security (GKNB), said in an interview with Asia-Plus.
According to him, seven grenade launchers, seven sub-machine-guns Kalashnikov, six pistols Makarov, 15 radio transmitters and two satellite-based mobile telephones Thuraya, as well as 20,000 bullets of different caliber were found in the house. Moreover, 40 extremist books were also found in the house.
The public relations center head also noted that according to operational data, some 100 kilograms of narcotic drug were supposed to be kept in the house. “Drug traffickers tried to burn drugs, however, part of them remained intact,” Bouriyev said.
As it had been reported earlier, the policemen came to Langariyev’s house where drug traffickers hide Tuesday morning and suggested laying down their arms; however the drug traffickers started shooting. These actions lead to military operation which lasted for some 12 hours. Eight persons including the 29-year-old Suhrob Langariyev, wanted for robbery, were detained.
