DUSHANBE, July 3, 2008, Asia-Plus -- Two persons were killed and on other was seriously injured Thursday as a car went over precipice on the Fakhrobod Pass, according to press service of the traffic police directorate.
The accident took place early in the morning on the 30th kilometer of the highway from Dushanbe to Qurghon Teppa, the capital of the southern province of Khatlon.
“A Niva-Chevrolet driven by Safarmurdo Boboyev, an official with the Drug Control Agency (DCA) was moving from Dushanbe to Khatlon,” said the source at the traffic police directorate, “Boboyev probably lost control of the car and it went over the precipice.”
Boboyev and his wife died and their son was seriously injured and taken to the hospital. He is now in serious condition, according to the source.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
