DUSHANBE, August 18, 2008, Asia-Plus -- Two were and at least five others were injured in a traffic accident in Dushanbe yesterday evening.
The accident took place in Dushanbe’s Sino district at around 8:00 p.m. According to the Tajik traffic police directorate, Toyota Avalon, driven by Bobo Azimov, hit pedestrian and then collided with fixed-route taxi (minivan). The pedestrian and one of passengers of the minivan were killed and five other persons were injured.
The same day, one person was killed and seven others were injured in a car collision near the village of Oqmachit in the Tursunzoda district.
In all, five persons were killed and 22 others were injured in nine traffic accidents registered in the country yesterday.
