KHUJAND, September 17, 2008, Asia-Plus -- Over the first eight months of this year, 301 traffic accidents have been registered in the northern Sughd province, which is only four cases more than in the same period of last year, according to the Sughd police directorate.
In the meantime, 118 persons have been killed in the traffic accidents registered over the report period against 77 killed in traffic accidents reported January-August 2007.
338 persons have been injured in the traffic accidents in January-August this year, which is 3 fewer than in the same period of last year.
97 traffic accidents, involving children, have been registered in the province over the same eight-month period. 12 children have been killed and 85 others have been injured in those accidents.
