DUSHANBE, October 14, 2008, Asia-Plus -- residents of Dushanbe experienced two mild tremors yesterday.
The first quake measuring 2.0 on a 12-point scale jolted Dushanbe at 1:08 p.m. According to the Dushanbe seismological center, the tremor epicenter was in the territory of Afghanistan, 318 kilometers southeast of Dushanbe. In the epicenter, the tremor’ magnitude was 4.0 on the 12-point scale. No damage or injured was reported.
The second earthquake measuring 3.0 on the 12-point scale was experienced by Dushanbe residents Monday night, at around 10:00 p.m. According to the Dushanbe seismological center, the epicenter was in the Rasht Valley, some 180-200 kilometers northeast of Dushanbe. No damage or injured was reported, according to the source.
