DUSHANBE, October 20, 2008, Asia-Plus -- Tajik law enforcement authorities eliminate the version that criminal killed the guard of Orienbonk’s branch Odina Davlatov for the purpose of robbing the bank.
Speaking to reporters in Dushanbe today, the Minister of Interiors Mahmadnazar Solehov said that the version that bank robbery had been the cause of the killing of policeman was dismissed. According to him, the murder of Sergeant Odina Davaltov was premeditated.
Muhammadi Shafoatov, an official with the Ministry of Interior (MoI), told Asia-Plus today that the bank robbery version had been dismissed because the murder had left the building straight after the killing. “No traces of breaking were found in the building and nothing was stolen from the bank,” said Shafoatov, “Investigators are currently considering the version of murder caused by unfriendly relations.”
As it had been reported earlier, Sergeant Odina Davlatov, an officer from the police department in Dushanbe’s Sino district, who guarded the branch of Orienbonk on the Vladimir Mayakovsky Street in the Sino district, was shot dead on October 19, between 5:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. “The criminal probably entered the building, took police officer’s pistol and shot him in the head,” Mahmadullo Asadulloyev, a spokesman for a MoI, said, refraining from giving further details of the crime.
A special operational group, led by Deputy Interior Minister, Sharif Nazarov, has been set up to investigate into the crime.
