DUSHANBE, May 7, 2009, Asia-Plus -- By president’s order 377,450 somoni will be allocated to provide extraordinary grants and preferential loans to residents of Khatlon’s Khuroson district that were affected by torrential rain and landslide on the night of April 21-22, according to presidential press service.
The disaster-affected families will receive a 3,000 somoni preferential loan each. Besides, they will receive extraordinary grants of 150 to 650 somoni depending on extent of damage.
As it had been reported earlier, torrential rain on the night of April 21-22 caused landslide that hit two villages in the Khuroson district. 22 houses were destroyed completely and 65 houses were damaged partially. No casualties were reported.
