QURGHON EPPA, July 22, 2009, Asia-Plus -- The Khatlon emergency management agency will implement the project for reinforcement of banks of the Panj River in cooperation with international organization ACTED, Abdusattor Khoushvaqtov, the chief of the Khatlon emergency management agency, said in an interview with Asia-Plus.
According to him, an official presentation of the project that will cover Hamadoni, Farkhor, Shuroobod and Panj districts is scheduled for the end of this month.
The project provides for planting riparian forests on an area of 4,000 hectares; the riparian forests will serve as river bank protection works,” Khoushvaqtov said. A total cost of the project is more than 1.5 million US dollars.
