DUSHANBE, August 20, Asia-Plus -- A major fire that broke at two bitumen reservoirs in the west of Dushanbe Wednesday afternoon destroyed 1.5 tons of bitumen belonging to China’s road-building company, China Road.
The chief of the firefighting service within the Ministry of Interior (MoI), Colonel Mahmadsaid Karimov, told Asia-Plus that firefighters managed to salvage 2.5 tons of bitumen.
We will recall that the blaze enveloped the space of more than 2,000 square meters. According to Karimov, they received call about the fire at the bitumen reservoirs that are rented China Road, at 12:46 and the first six firefighting crews came to the fire site already at 12:56. “In all, 15 firefighting crews and two water carriers were involved in extinguishing the blaze,” said Karimov, “They put out the fire at 13:58 and no injured was reported.”
