DUSHANBE, November 27, 2009, Asia-Plus -- Three accidents that took place in Tajikistan yesterday left three dead and one injured, according to the Committee for Emergency Situations (CES).
A rock fall hit a car on the 147th kilometer of the highway from Dushanbe to Khujand. “A huge rock brought a car down into a precipice,” said the source, “The driver died on the spot while his passenger sustained various injuries and was hospitalized.”
In Khatlon’s Yovon district, a 10-year-old boy died after falling from a roof.
Resident of the village of Webest in GBAO’s Shugnan district, Alisher Zaydulloyev, sustained serious injuries after falling off a 10-meter rock while pasturing cattle. He died on the way to the Khorog hospital.
