DUSHANBE, March 15, 2010, Asia-Plus -- A rock fall has killed three persons and injured two others in northern Tajikistan.
According to the Committee for Emergency Situations (CES), a rock fall hit the Patei (phonetically spelled) area in the Ayni district, some 111 kilometers north of Dushanbe yesterday, killing three persons and seriously inuring two.
“As a result of the rock fall, the 46-year-old Khairullo Sharipov could not control his Musso and it fell into the Fondaryo River,” said the source at a CES, “The driver and two passengers – 41-year-old Rahmon Jalolov and 38-year-old Gulraftor Rahmonov died (the body of Gulraftor Rahmonov has not yet been found), while two other passengers – 47-year-old Shermurod Eshmurodov and 10-year-old Mehrona Rahmonova -- sustained various injuries and were hospitalized to the Ayni central district hospital.”
