DUSHANBE. May 28. “Asia-Plus” -- Natural disaster continues to take lives in Tajikistan.
According to Tajik Emergency Committee, another accident occurred yesterday in Uvoki village of Jangikurgon jamoat of Shakhristan region during heavy rainfalls accompanied by lightning. “Lightning killed a 43-year-old Tulkun Suvankulov who was working in the field,” the source has said.
The same day heavy rainfalls caused severe damage to farmlands and river banks in Faizobod, Shakhrinav and Varzob regions and in Rogun city. Special commission has been set up to evaluate the damage.
According to the Emergency Committee, natural disasters killed 40 in Tajikistan in 2010. In April-May this year heavy rainfalls caused severe damage to 31 regions of the country.
