KHUJAND, November 15, 2010, Asia-Plus -- Two residents from the village of Obburdon in Mastchoh district, Sughd province – the 21-year-old Khayomiddin Fayziyev and the 21-year-old Manouchehr Nizomov - have beaten two recruitment officers – the 41-year-old Hokim Nazarov and the 50-year-old Umar Safarov, according to the Sughd police directorate.
“The incident took place in the Obburdon village on November 14, when Nazarov and Safarov arrived in the village to give call-up paper to the 19-year-old Mullonozim Badiyev,” said the source, “Fayziyev and Nizomov insulted and beat the recruitment officers and pelted their car with stones.”
Local law enforcement authorities have drawn up materials on the hooliganism charge (Article 237 of Tajikistan’s Penal Code) and measures are taken to institute criminal proceedings against Fayziyev and Nizomov, the source added.
