DUSHANBE, April 25, 2011, Asia-Plus -- A three-year-old baby has died in a car fire in the city of Konibodom, Sughd province.
According to the Interior Ministry firefighting department, the fatal accident took place on April 23. “The girl, 3, died after flames engulfed Daewoo Cielo in the yard of the family house in Ayni Street,” said the source, “Fire crews arrived in the fire site in a few minutes and extinguished the fire in several seconds, but they, unfortunately, failed to save the girl.”
The fire was probably caused by an electrical malfunction.
Some 300 fires have been registered in Tajikistan in the first quarter of this year. Nine persons, including three minors, have been killed and 59 others have been injured in those fires.
