DUSHANBE, June 11, 2011, Asia-Plus -- Hooligans have reported attacked judges from the GBAO regional court and a teacher from technical lyceum in Shugnan district. They have reportedly also smashed offices of judges and have broken window glasses in the building of the Khorog city prosecutor’s office.
The source at the Ministry of Interior (MoI) says the incident took place Friday afternoon, at about 3:30 pm, during hearing over the case of 29-year-old Kayon Raimkhudoyev, who faced murder charge.
“Unrest began after court found Kayon Raimkhudoyev guilty and sentenced him to nine years in prison,” said the source, “A group of unknown persons burst into the court building and beat Khalil Kholiqov, deputy chairman of the GBAO regional court, Akbarsho Safarov, a judge from the GBAO regional court, and Azizullo Muqadamshoyev, a teacher at the Shugnan technical lyceum.” The hooligans then began to smash judge offices; damage caused to the regional court building is estimated at 20,000 somoni.
After that, they went to the building of the Khorog city prosecutor’s office and broke window glasses in the building. Damage caused to the building of the Khorog city prosecutor’s office is estimated at 3,000 somoni, the source said.
Two persons – Eraj Sadonshoyev, 41, and Jamshed Sheraliyev, 26 – were detained and an operation for detention of the remaining participants in that crime is going on.
