DUSHANBE, October 7, 2013, Asia-Plus – The law on regulation and strengthening of a mechanism for disaster response was a major topic of a seminar that took place in Dushanbe at the end of last week.
Organized by the CIS Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (IPA)’s Permanent Commission for Social Policy and Human Rights in cooperation with the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), the event reportedly discussed issues related to the modular law on disaster response developed by IFRC and adaption of it to the CIS area.
According to the IFRC Delegation to Tajikistan, members of the CIS IPA’s Permanent Commission for Social Policy and Human Rights were acquainted with common problems of regulation in the field of international disaster response and experience of use of the disaster relief legal assistance manual in Tajikistan and Kazakhstan.
