DUSHANBE, November 28, 2013, Asia-Plus -- Tajik Ministry of Defense (MoD) denies report by Uzbek news website 12uz.com that three helicopters of Tajik MoD allegedly violated Uzbekistan airspace on November 27 as absolutely baseless.
“Aircraft and helicopters of Tajikistan’s Air Force are currently conducting planned training flights but no one of them violated Uzbekistan airspace,” Faridoun Mahmadaliyev, a spokesman for a MoD, told Asia-Plus in an interview Thursday morning.
Meanwhile, Uzbek news website 12uz.com reported on November 27 that three helicopters of Tajik Air Force have violated Uzbekistan airspace. According to 12uz.com, the helicopters allegedly crossed into Uzbekistan airspace in Jizzakh region.
12uz.com cited a source in Uzbek law enforcement authorities as saying that those helicopters were also seen near the Sohibkor settlement and suburb of the city of Bekabad, Tashkent region. Tajik helicopters were allegedly more than an hour in Uzbekistan airspace.
