DUSHANBE, July 3, 2015, Asia-Plus -- Tajik Prime Minister Qohir Rasoulzod yesterday visited the Hamadoni district in Khatlon province.
Subhiddin Muhiddinov, a senior consultant at president’s press center, says the purpose of the visit was for the prime minister to get acquainted with the process of rehabilitation of the riverbank reinforcement works along the Panj River.
“The prime minister visited the most dangerous areas of the Panj River near Sarband and the irrigation canal Chubek,” Muhiddinov said, noting that work on rehabilitation of flood protection embankment in Khatlon is financed by the government.
240 concrete blocks have reportedly been laid for reinforcement of the dam of the Chubek irrigation canal. By president’s order additional building materials and diesel fuel have been delivered there.
