DUSHANBE, April 6, 2016, Asia-Plus – A minor tremor measuring 2.0 on the Richer scale could be felt in Dushanbe yesterday at 5:11 pm, according to the Committee for Emergency Situations and Civil Defense (CES) under the Government of Tajikistan.
The epicenter of the earthquake that occurred at a depth of 20 kilometers was reportedly located not far from the Tajik-Uzbek border, in Uzbekistan’s Qashqadarya region, 136 kilometers of Dushanbe and 420 kilometers of the Uzbek capital, Tashkent.
In the epicenter, the earthquake had magnitude of 5.0 on the Richter scale, the source said.
According to Uzbekistan’s digital seismic network, a tremor measuring 3.0-4.0 could be felt in Samarqand, a tremor measuring 2.0-3.0 could be felt in Qarshi, and a tremor measuring 2.0 could be felt in Termez.
