A resident of the northern city of Konibodom has got a lengthy jail term for killing his father.
The Sughd regional court has sentenced Jamshed Sharipov, 30, to 19 years in prison. The sentence followed his conviction on charge of murder. Sharipov will serve his term in a high-security penal colony.
Judge Suhrob Nouralizoda, who presided over the trial, says the incident took place on March 25, 2015.
According to him, Sharipov killed his 54-yer-old father following quarrel over his sister. “At first Sharipov quarreled with his sister and when the father interceded for her, Sharipov struck him with a spade several times. The man died on the spot,” the judge said.
