The Ministry of Education and Sciences of Tajikistan accuses the Multikid Education Center of illegal activity.

In a statement released over an April 1 incident, the Ministry of Education noted that some organizations, including the Multikid Education Center, are engaged in sending students to study abroad and collaborating with foreign organizations though they do not have licensing documents for this.

“Despite warnings from the State Service for Supervision in Education, this organization [Multikid Education Center] was continuing to be engaged in sending Tajik students to study abroad and collaborate with foreign organizations that is at variance with Articles 33 and 36 of Tajikistan’s Law on Education,” the ministry said.

The ministry further noted that the Center for International Education Programs Center was established in the country in 2008 for organization of abroad studying.

The Interior Ministry also noted today that organizers of the April 1 education exhibition did not get permit for carrying out the exhibition from the Ministry of Education and Science.

Recall, Ms. Manzoura Jourayeva, the head of the Multikid Education Center, which organized the exhibition, wrote on her Facebook page on Saturday that police dispersed participants of the exhibition straight after it kicked off.

According to her, the company got all necessary documents giving permission to carry out the education exhibition dedicated to the Year of Youth in Tajikistan, “but they meanly prohibited the exhibition.”

“Ten representatives of different countries have been invited to participate in the exhibition.  Students and the parents who came to the exhibition from all regions of Tajikistan as well as foreign guests have been dispersed and video and photo materials have been destroyed,” Ms. Jourayeva noted.

Manzoura Jourayeva has offered apologies to all those who were going to attend the exhibition, especially to more than 500 school leavers registered for the entrance examinations.

More than ten foreign universities, colleges, schools and linguistic centers from the United Kingdom, the United States, Germany, Cyprus, Poland, Belarus, China, South Korea, the Czech Republic and Malaysia have reportedly been invited to participate in the exhibition.
